What type of exercises will I be doing?
Most of the exercises are bodyweight so suitable for all ages and abilities. Every now and then we get a few pieces of equipment out for a circuits type class. We also do a bit of basic boxing which is great for relieving pent up stresses! The workouts are often based on team games and having fun so you will get to know the other bootcampers quickly and easily. Here are some examples of what we do.
I haven't exercised in a while, I'm a bit nervous! Will it be too hard for me?
No! But it will be a challenge as that is how you make progress in your fitness. There are ladies of many different levels of fitness at Body Bootcamp and all abilities are catered for.
When are the classes?
Body Bootcamp meets by the cricket pavilion at 6am every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Classes last for 45 minutes, so you can be back home around 7, in time to get ready for work/ get the kids breakfast etc.
Virtual Bootcamp is also 45 minutes and is at 7.15am Monday to Friday.
How much do they cost?
Membership for Body Bootcamp on Twickenham Green is £50 per month and Virtual Bootcamp is £40 per month, payable by GoCardless on the 1st of every month. Membership to Body Bootcamp gives you unlimited attendance on the green AND to Virtual Bootcamp.
What happens if it's raining? Very Cold? Very hot? Snowing?!
We carry on! Unless the weather conditions are dangerous of course, we wear appropriate clothing for the situation. In very cold conditions, wear lots of layers that you can easily take off when you get warmed up and put back on quickly when we cool down, (boxing gloves tend to keep your hands warm too). As we meet early, it's unlikely to get too hot but make sure you bring water with you to drink. If it's snowing, then what else? We have a snowball fight!
What do I need to bring with me?
A bottle of water and a yoga mat or old towel to lie on, and an exercise band and skipping rope will be helpful. Also bring your sense of humour and fun 😀
What do I need for the Online Classes?
You can use a phone, laptop, computer or tablet to access the classes. It is mostly bodyweight with a few props/exercise bands and geared specifically towards women. I would recommend turning the heating off if you can, or use a colder room/the garden as you will get hot. Make sure you have enough space and there are no tripping hazards. Wear suitable clothing and footwear, you will be doing some impact or jumping exercises, be careful not to slip. (i.e. no socks on a wooden floor, wear trainers). Make sure you have water to hand, a yoga mat is helpful and if you have a physio/exercise band or some hand weights then have them with you as well.
